AGYM cat scratching posts, scratchers and toys for indoor cats
Every indoor cat needs a corner that is unmistakably theirs — something to scratch, something to climb, something to chase. AGYM makes the sisal cat scratching post that saves the sofa, the cardboard pads cats sleep on, an 80-inch tree that climbs the wall, and springs by the bagful.

Why does a cat need a scratching post?
Scratching is not bad behaviour. Cats scratch to stretch the long muscles of the back and shoulders, to leave a scent mark from the glands in their paws, and to pull off the worn outer layer of each claw. Take away the right surface and they use the nearest one — usually the arm of the sofa, a rug or the curtains.
A good cat scratching post gives the same feeling in a better place. It needs the height for a full vertical stretch, a solid wood base that won't tip at any angle, and a durable covering that shreds under the claws: sisal rope, sisal rug or corrugated cardboard. Put it beside the furniture your cat already chose, praise every use, and most cats move over within a week.
More on scratching
Vertical, horizontal or both?
Sisal posts and the wall tree suit cats that reach up the back of a couch or a door frame. Choose the tallest post that fits — 32 inches lets a large cat stretch out completely.
Cardboard pads and the L-shaped board suit cats that claw rugs and carpet. They are soft for kittens and double as a bed.
Cats that leap onto shelves and fridge tops want height. The 80-inch wall-mounted cat tree gives five perches and a full-height sisal post on a tiny footprint.
What cat owners say

Just big enough for my 13lb Maine Coon mix. Sisal mats rather than jute rope, so should be easier to replace when he wears it out, if I can find the right size. My cat likes sitting next to me when I am crocheting sitting down, and this is the perfect height to keep him off of my side table. He has been enjoying it since I set it up, scratching it immediately. Seems like it will last a very long time.
Terra · September 2026 · Classic Sisal PostMy cat loves these. They're not too expensive and it takes a while to get through them.
wordub · 5-Pad Scratcher BoxMy cat loves these toys and I have been able to teach him fetch with them. I will always recommend these to other cat owners.
Max S. · Spring ToysI combined this with another mountable cat tree to make a play area for my cats who get bored while I’m working. It’s nice-sized, sturdy, super easy to put together and to mount. My cats love all the scratching posts on it and it was a great price compared to others.

Sisal rope vs carpet vs cardboard
Sisal rope is the most durable of the scratching surfaces and leaves no crumbs; sisal rug is flatter and softer under the paw; carpet and fabric feel familiar but teach some cats that every rug is for scratching; cardboard is cheap, soft and loved by horizontal scratchers, but wears out and needs a replacement every few weeks. AGYM wraps sisal around its posts and the wall tree, pairs sisal with carpet on the post with a bed, and packs double-sided corrugated board into each cat scratcher box.
Vertical and horizontal scratching
Some cats scratch upright on a door frame; others stretch flat across a rug. A vertical post and a horizontal cardboard cat scratcher placed around the same room cover both habits, and the L-shaped board gives both in one piece that leans against a wall.
Choosing a post for a large cat
A large cat needs three things: height, a wide base and a thick post. The classic AGYM post stands 32 inches on a 15 × 13.8-inch base; the thick version wraps sisal around a 5.5-inch column on a weighted 14 × 15-inch base, so heavy cats can hug it without slipping.
Cat trees and cat climbing
Cat trees give indoor cats exercise and a safe lookout. A wall-mounted cat tree uses the height of the room rather than floor space: the AGYM 80-inch tower uses tension mounting between floor and ceiling, so there is nothing to attach to the wall, with staggered perches up the column and sisal wrapped along its whole length for scratching on the way up.
Play keeps claws busy too
A bored cat scratches more. Ten minutes of chase with a rope teaser or a handful of springs before bedtime uses up the energy that otherwise goes into the furniture.
Helpful whisker notes
Why do cats need a scratching post?
Scratching is as natural to a cat as grooming. A scratching post doesn't stop it — it moves it somewhere you don't mind.
Read the noteHow to get a cat to use a scratching post
Most cats take to a new post within a week if it is in the right spot and more fun than the sofa.

A floor-to-ceiling tower goes up without drilling — as long as you measure first.

Scratching post questions
Do cats really need a scratching post?
Yes. Scratching is a daily need, not a habit to train away. A post gives that need a place that isn't your furniture.
What is the best type of scratching post for cats?
A tall, heavy post covered in sisal rope suits most cats. Cats that scratch rugs prefer a flat cardboard scratcher — many homes use one of each.
Where should I put the scratching post?
Next to where the damage happens and near where the cat sleeps; cats like to stretch and scratch right after waking.
How often should I replace cardboard pads?
When the surface is worn flat on both sides. AGYM sells refill packs of 4, 5, 6 and 8 pads that fit the same box.
Can a wall-mounted cat tree damage the ceiling?
The tower is held by tension between floor and ceiling, with pads at both ends; tighten it enough that it doesn't move, not more.
